19-20 Contract Update

Greetings STA members! Your bargaining team is happy to announce that we have concluded our bargaining session for the 19-20 school year. Changes and updates to our contract are summarized below. This summary gives most of the highlights of changes to the contract, but there are several smaller changes that may not be noted. We encourage you to be familiar with your entire contract!

Employee Compensation
Teachers will receive a 2.5% raise, retroactive to July 1, 2019.
Teachers will get $1000 added to their annual health and welfare benefit.
The district has agreed to attempt to offer a retirement bridge of $8000 per year towards Health & Welfare, beginning in 22-23. This is still in flux - see the Tentative Agreement for details.

Terms of Agreement
The Union and the District have agreed to this contract for the next 3 years. 
Association Rights
Interviews conducted by the district for bargaining unit positions are to be held in private, in a closed setting.
Teaching Conditions
Clarifications on the use of recorded videos for potential teacher actions.
Assignments and Transfers
Clarifications of priorities for voluntary and involuntary transfers.

Site-based reassignments must be discussed in a meeting between the teacher, principal, HR Supt. and a Union rep.
Hours and Additional Duties
Higher hourly pay for extra duty assignments, including $50/hr for Saturday school.
Preparation Time
Reinstated $10,000 stipend for Eagle Summit teachers without a prep period.
Class Size
Smaller class size maximums at the high school and middle school levels.
Adjustments to Special Ed class sizes and caseloads.
$3000 bonus for teaching elementary combo classes.
10 day limit for class size adjustments.
Leaves
Adjustments to terms regarding bereavement leaves.
Stipends
$500 stipend for GATE coaching
$1500 Elementary Sp Ed TLL stipend for sites with 3 or more sp ed teachers.

    Snowline Teachers' Association (STA) is an organization of Snowline teachers that currently represents approximately two thirds of all the teachers in the Snowline School District.  While representing our members it is our goal to improve the education of the students by supporting all of the teachers within the Snowline School District.
